Construction began in March 2020 and the project will be completed in Spring 2023.

Who is Financing and Building the Project?

The Houbolt Road Extension Joint Venture, LLC (HRE-JV), a business partnership between CenterPoint Properties and United Bridge Partners, financed the design and construction of the project.

Will the Bridge Be Tolled?

I Have A “Pay by Plate” Account Set Up with the Illinois Tollway. Will That Work on the Houbolt Road Extension?

No, the “Pay by Plate” system is only valid on the IL Tollway. Any vehicle crossing the Houbolt Road Extension without a valid and funded I-PASS/EZ-Pass account will be mailed an invoice at the Pay-by-Mail rate.
